You may remember Ashley and Nate from their engagement, bridal, and wedding portraits. Nancy and Austin also had family pictures done with his family. Now it’s the Flinders’ turn. These really turned out so great! We were at the park by 7:00 AM (that’s right, AM!) to get some great shots, and then we went to Milt and Adele’s house for some more formal type shots. What a super fun family! Here are some of my favorites:

When I was pregnant, I worried that I wouldn’t be a good mother. This fear consumed my thoughts. Even after Ben was born I still wondered if I was doing it right. I think all women/mothers think like this. Finally, when Ben was about 5 months old I had an “aha” moment where I realized I was okay. Ben had started getting sick and he had been coughing and then choking on his saliva. One time he started coughing/choking and I held him and patted his back and put my other hand in front of his mouth. He then proceeded to throw up…in my hand. At that moment all I could think about was my baby and how scared and uncomfortable he must be, I was more worried about him than about the puke in my hand. I believe that is when I realized I could do this…I could be am a mother. I’m sure all mothers come to this realization at some point.

I bring this up because today I’m sharing some images of the beautiful Kennedy. I come to a newborn session prepared for the baby to pee. Kennedy decided to poop…all over her mom. And, being the fabulous mother that she is, she just said…”Don’t worry about me, let keep shooting.” What a woman! Regardless of the poop, I think we got some fabuouls images. It was so hard to pick favorites but here are a few of mine:

And here’s another McKay newborn. Kenlee was such a beautiful little princess. She even had a tutu and a flower hat…what a girl! It’s so fun to play with a little girl since I just have the little buddy boy. I still am surprised when I photograph newborns and see how tiny they are. My little guy is now 6 months old and definately not a newborn. I cherish the newborn pictures I have of him and know Kenlee’s family will feel the same way. Here are some of my favorites:

Gevin is another of my “McKay babies“. He was such a darling! Once he got some food in him he slept right through the session. I love sleeping babies! Here are some of my favorites of the little guy.

On July 20, 2008, I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy, at McKay-Dee Hospital. I had such an amazing experience that I wanted to give back. The only downside to my entire experience was the (long) time spent walking the halls of the Labor and Delivery unit hoping that Ben would decide to come. As I was walking the halls in the middle of the night, I tried to focus on something other than the pain…unfortunately there was nothing to focus on…the walls were bare!

So, to enhance the walls, I have decided to donate custom newborn portraits to the hospital. To personalize the gift, I will be using McKay-Dee employees’ babies as the models. So come back often to check out the precious babies.

Images Photography is proud to be a participating photographer in the National Charity Model Search to select “America’s Cutest Kid”, and to help raise funds for charity.

We’re looking for children ages 18 months to 14 years old to model for a portrait to be entered into the National Charity Model Search. Prizes include a $5000 US Savings bond and Canon G10 digital camera. Also, the child voted state finalist may elect to serve as a model during the 2009 Sandy Puc’ Tots 2 Teens Seminar Tour in Salt Lake City, UT.

Models Search Special:

$25 entrance fee for sessions held at your home or at a local outdoor setting (travel fees may apply if out of the area), which includes a 20 minute model session per child and one image submitted to the national gallery. These sessions are for individuals, no sibling shots unless time allows. Special print packages and ala carte pricing will also be available for purchase including model comp cards of your little one.

State finalists will be determined by online votes. Anyone may vote. Each vote costs $1, and all proceeds from votes benefit the non-profit organization Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (www.NILMDTS.org). NILMDTS is a network of thousands of professional photographers who volunteer their time and talent to families in need, capturing and providing everlasting images of children for parents whose babies will never come home from the hospital.

Grand prize national winner will be determined from the 50 state finalists by photography and modeling industry experts.
